Kitchens and offices may need a brighter globe with a higher lumen output. Where as you may prefer a softer light with a lower lumen output for a lounge room.

Low: 200 - 400lm
Medium: 400 - 700lm

The light colour temperature can set the mood for a room. Warmer temps can create a relaxed homely feel, where as cooler temps can create a clean light for a work space.
